With a wide range of music taste spanning from Chris Knight to Deftones, Mac Miller to Stone Temple Pilots, Matthews shows the influences of the musicians he holds high in his eyes throughout his songwriting. With a “dirt under the nails” kind of sound and Mellon Collie-type guitar playing, it’s easy to see how the young artist fits naturally in the Americana genre.
