Caudal Peduncle formed in late 2019 by a group of colleagues from the Seattle Aquarium. Initially coming together as a one-off project for a co-worker's retirement party, the band consists of Diana Cardiff, Mike Strassburger, Bob Fitzgerald, and Kevin Warner, all of whom come with a wealth of diverse musical and performance backgrounds. Diana, a seasoned dancer and choreographer, had the novel idea of forming the band and creating marine-themed music. The name "Caudal Peduncle" was initially chosen because it’s such nerdy marine science lingo. While Diana is embarking on her first band experience, Mike, Bob and Kevin all have long histories playing in bands. Mike and Kevin have been playing in the Seattle music scene since the 1980’s 90’s and Bob has a long history in the NYC punk scene from back in the day.
